A message from Simon Fee, General Manager - Commercial ANZ
The on-set of COVID-19 has significantly impacted our society however the veterinary industry has demonstrated a resiliance not seen in many other sectors, as we begin to see the opening up of our economies again IDEXX will begin transistioning our field based team members out to face to face interactions. The essential nature of veterinary services, the importance of pets in the family structure and a ‘one off’ migration to working from home, have supported strong demand for veterinary services.
IDEXX has proudly supported the industry throughout this time with a commitment to ongoing in-house diagnostic product availability and laboratory operations. During May we notified you of the commercial availability of the IDEXX SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) RealPCR test. The product availability is ongoing in Australia, subject to our qualifying criteria for testing, including consultation with a public health authority (for example, a state public health veterinarian).
With the commencement of June, our governments are reverting to the opening up of our economies, allowing increasing social interaction and the easing of travel restrictions. Consistent with this, IDEXX is endorsing that our important field based team members central to customer engagement, are once again available for face to face interaction. Our team members will follow strict guidelines including obtaining clinic consent in advance of visits, maintaining personal hygiene, practicing social distancing and using personal protective equipment where suitable.
Lastly, our customer relations, technical support (field and phone based), internal medicine consultants, pathologists and professional service veterinarians remain available to support your business requirements.
