This quarter we focus on one of our most long standing community partners Eurella to show you the work that they undertake and how at IDEXX we support and provide benefits to the community outside of our usual business.
Eurella is a place where people and relationships are truly valued and supporting people with disabilities to achieve all that is possible underpins what we do. At Eurella we describe Tim and the IDEXX community as true agents of change or interchangeably change advocates. IDEXX have been instrumental in enacting positive change that supports people with disabilities to live their best possible life with the opportunity to gain employment, succeed with personal and financial goals, explore new interests, develop important skills, connect with others and contribute to society.
In Australia People with disability are more likely to be underemployed with 53.4% of people with disability working compared to 83.2 % of people without disability. Employment opportunities are one way that people with disability and their families can have economic security so that they can plan for their future and can exercise choice and control.
Eurella’s upwardly mobile 3PL employees just over 40 people with disability at its North Strathfield packaging and assembly disability enterprise. The business enterprises main purpose is to offer Supported Employees meaningful and gainful employment that delivers diversification, training and succession planning opportunities.
IDEXX a valued, caring and loyal customer provides contract work to Eurella that supports people with disability to maximise their potential and participation in the workforce ably contributing to the supply chain and manufacturing sector. Meticulously and with pride the Supported Employees diligently work to fulfil small to large volume contracts for IDEXX that range from pick and pack, promotion and packaging, assembly, labelling. The Eurella team value the interactions with the IDEXX community and these relationships are warmly valued.
Eurella’s relationship with IDEXX is testament of a productive partnership where the measure of positive social impact has been evidenced and measured through genuine and tangible change to the livelihoods of individuals and the awareness of the important contribution of people with disability to community. The success of this relationship is based on shared values with a genuine interest and care that has raised awareness and dignity and created opportunity that has inspired excellence, capacity and capability.
IDEXX have played a significant role in promoting awareness to the community, government and other stakeholders of the important participation of people with disability in the workforce and their contribution to the Australian economy. IDEXX have shared many milestones with Eurella including celebrating the achievements of Eurella’s 65th Anniversary and checking in during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eurella is aspirational for all employees and as an organisation watching people succeed is rewarding. It is an absolute privilege that IDEXX is an instrument in supporting an individual’s employment pathway where a plan revolves into a reality.
